People who run down the clock

I am tired of playing people who run down the clock instead of resigning. Chess.com should do something about it. Match players who do this behaviour with others of their kind and let the rest of us have a more enjoyable experience.

I think that you may get bored and hope you make a mistake, sad really and I totally agree with you

Meh. In bullet it’s fair game.

Better than abandoning.

I'm decently sure that getting reported for this automatically puts you in a pool with other players who stall, exactly like what you said.

i have been matched against a few players who have a "game abandoned" rate of 40% and I started reporting systematically. When people I play against players who purely waste time, I also ask them in the chat to resign instead of wasting time (when they go from 2:30 minutes to 10 seconds on the clock and it becomes obvious they are not thinking, they will not play a move). I report players for stalling and quitting games.

Yet I still matchmake against the same kind of people. It does not seem to have a strong effect overall.

I did notice a big change when playing against higher rated players (it seems far more prevalent at 700 than at 1100 on Blitz from my experience) so maybe when reaching 1500 it becomes better?

I will keep reporting in the meantime.

The questionable part is when they try to make a draw with you... Like dude seriously? You ain't playing nufin and you want 50/50? Nah

i often offer a draw when the opponent has an advantage but is running out of time (a few seconds left). I find it a fair deal; you beat me at chess but used too much time, looks like neither of us should win that (if players have a decisive advantage then I simply resign even if it looks like I could win on time)
