playing live with freinds

Both your and your friend(s) have to be in the Live server interface at the same time in order to challenge them to a Live game. Play > Live Chess

how can i play my friends. that our on Facebook. how can i add them to play them..this is not working for me

When you first launch the application, you should both be in Live. The session will time out after a little while. But if your friend is in your friend list, it should be very simple.
Also, it is possible that the seek settings allowed for incoming challenges might not match your criteria and the error message my be too generic. I'm not sure how those settings on the web might interact with the app settings (but I'm guessing they do).
Through experimentation we think we discovered that for a Live Game request to be successful both participants must have the app open and on-top (that is not running in the background). I had assumed being signed in was enough given push notifications but of the several times we tried it only tried to connect when we were both looking at the app.
Even so, we didn’t manage to initiate a successful game. My friend managed to get a game started with me but then it only allowed her to advance a pawn one square (instead of the legal two she wanted to play). Meanwhile I did not get the move and the game was auto-resigned or something. There is a countdown separate to the game count down on initiation of the Live Game launch.
I tried to start a Live Game with her twice and it did the connecting thing, first time saying she had declined when in fact she had not got the request and the second time it said she wasn’t available to play when she was waiting and ready.
This friend lives in the US and the previous person I mentioned lives in South Africa while I live in the UK so I don’t know if that has something to do with it.
My conclusion is that Live Games is unstable - I am not sure though assume that a live game would collapse if one participant had to click away from the app for any reason. I conclude therefore it would be best to use Daily Play simply because it is more reliable and flexible. I would just have to agree with my friend a “soft” game time something like agree to finish the game in about an hour (or whatever is agreed).

I don't think it has to do with stability of Live but the stability of the connection to the Live server from the app through whatever network connection is being used. There are a lot of things that can impact the connectivity to the live server, things starting at the client and the local connectivity, through the ISP and all the intermediary connections, down to the hosting of the Live servers and the Live server process itself.
I don't play a ton of live, and don't directly challenge people, but I don't normally have any issues when I jump on and play some games on the app.
