Question about online Chess

Im new to the site so hello to everyone I have tried to do a search to find the answer to the problem I am having to no avail, may I ask please if i should be receiving e mails to inform me that it is my move, as I am not and I am mindful that I could miss my turn, I received my registration e mail so know my address is ok, can anyone help me please. Thanks in advance, Willy.

The alert doesn't work all the time for me either. I find it's easier just checking in here from time to time (whether on the computer or the Iphone).

yea, i just check daily.  :)  or, at least, as often as i can.  the sidebar helps greatly.

I eventually turned off the alerts because some of them were sent out much earlier than I wanted and others would show up many hours after I had already made my move.  Any tests I've ever done of my various email servers by sending from one to another always result in the usual few seconds or occasionally minutes between sending and receiving, so it seems unlikely that my email server would choose only messages from one source to delay for hours.

The bottom line is I found the alerts to be next to useless.  You're much better off to develop the habit of checking your games regularly, and chess.com is very well set up to make that easy to do at a glance.
