Rating Differences

Hi!

Do you now, how is possible than some players (for example Andrew Tang, you can watch him on twitch) get for win vs opponnent who has the same rating as you so many points (for example 20)? Because I get for win vs opponnent who has same rating as I, only 8 points.

I think you are mistaken.  I looked at his recent bullet games and none gave him 20 points. Most were plus or minus 5 points.

Almost nobody else is rated that high. He is rated hundreds of points higher than most of his opponents. He can lose 20 points on almost any loss but it seems very unlikely that he can gain 20 points in a single game.

It's because you played a player with pretty new account, whom his rating is not fully established.
I lost many points to players or new accounts that were rated something like 1690 and after losing to them their rating jumped to 1800+.
It's actually not really fair that you lose the same amount of points when you play a "real" 1700 player and a "not yet established" 1700.
