Can there be some way of not being forced to finish games you have already won? I know that it’s in the fair play guidelines but hardly anyone seems to pay attention to this. It’s frustrating when I have a huge advantage and have to sit through the rest of the match.

It is always possible to blunder. As long as the opponent is playing, you'll have to play it out. My understanding is there is work being done to adjudicate games where a player abandons, but I don't know the specifics.
