The live chess has been changed. You can no longer choose your colour. The system picks it automatically based on your previous colour, and the colour of your opponent in the last game he played.
The change was made because too many people were setting up white only seeks.
I disagree. I only play long games, and the seeks aren't exactly plentiful for that time control. It was becoming very hard for me to find people willing to play random colours.
Playing only white is unfair to others-and it might artificially raise your win/loss stats or rating, as white has an advantage (though it's probably not as large as commonly thought).
Its inconvenient for me!!! I want to play black sometimes and it gives me 6 whites in a row.. Last time i could request for black and get a game instantly =P.

I will check back from time-to-time to see if the option to choose your color has been reinstated, but until then I will not play chess on this site. I am attempting to improve my black game. If my opponent doesn't mind playing as white... it shouldn't be dictated that I have to play as white. I'm American and we don't play that. I will check back from time-to-time to see if freedom has been restored to this site, but until it has I will not participate in playing. I will use other sites.
All of sudden, I can play only black, why? How can I choose to play white.
