Same problem here. In order to see opponents move, I have to reload. Then after doing this for every move , the clock gets me. FIX PLEASE
site is unplayable
There are more forums where people complain about the same thing. It seems the main problem is with Windows + Chrome or Opera. I am running several Linux distributions + Chromium and have had no problems so far. I would recommend Firefox to all Windows users. I gave this advice elsewhere and people wrote back everything was OK with Windows + Firefox.
Just asking all the Chrome users to switch to Firefox is not exactly solving the problem, is it?
I have a very nice machine and have used Chrome for ages on chess.com with no problems whatsoever. This is a brand new problem that just surfaced a couple of days ago. It seems to affect just about everyone using Chrome. Something in the programming at chess.com changed, and it wasn't properly tested in Chrome. This is a BUG, and it needs to be fixed.
often delete your history as it take space and often laggs the game. I am using safari and so far i have not had any problem

Since I am not a staff member all I can do is to share what I have learnt. There is no doubt Chess.com`s gonna deal with this issue but people might use Firefox or Safari (thanks coolchess12345) to enjoy playing in the meantime. It may also be connected with using AdBlock Plus and similar tools that remove ads. Site owners usually try to discourage people from using them.
The 2 preferred browsers are Chrome and Firefox and if you do not have success just contact Help and support at the bottom of this page.
This is a problem that has been around for a long time. I posted almost the exact OP Post almost a year ago. Got the standard.... "It's you" response.
Not just me........
@GnrfFritz!
Since I have not been using Windows for some 10 years I am not much familiar with problems most of the people have to face. Nevertheless, it is true that people experiencing the above mentioned difficulties use Chrome or Opera while those with Firefox and Safari are usually OK. Of course, it is about this site being tested insufficiently.
It may have been a coincidence but my nephew (Windows + Chrome) had problems here when his AdBlock was on.
I have done some research on this site and found that Erik proposed to use Chrome on March 28, 2012 a fairly recent post.
Here is the articles:http://www.chess.com/article/view/why-should-you-upgrade-your-browser
Where it says download the fastest browser the link is to Chrome.
Do not know if Erik has come up with a new preferred browser for his site and you may want to ask him using the help and support link at the bottom of this page.
And if he did not then his team should work on making it trouble free.

When playing games on this site, the moves are delayed & only highlighted so I can't actually see the piece that has been moved. Is there something I can do on game settings to fix this???
