have thougth the same some times, it would have been nice to be able to choose if you wanted this or not. For myself its hardly a problem, but i have slipped sometimes, and its really annoying.

I agree completely. Mouse slips happen with a touch pad.
For longer games, the time to confirm a move is negligeble and I'd prefer losing the few seconds over losing the game due to a silly mouseslip. Not to mention submit move can also help you filter out painful blunders.
Live chess needs a submit move option just to avoid mouse slip moves. I had a guy hang his queen to me yesterday, and I did the same thing this morning.
