sudden intereption by other person

I was playing with kapil2577 and was in advantage position, suddenly mindbuilder came in and started playing with me i don't know how. when in continued with mindbuilder i lost the game with kapil2577 inrespect of time.  My question is how come a person can be challenged when he is playing another game?  This affected my points as i lost to mindbuilder who was having 1300 points and with kapil2577 also where i was in full advantage position?
