i have. its like suddenly i cannot control my mouse pad (i use a laptop) and i have to wait about 10-15 seconds until i get control of the mouse again. and yes, it only seems to happen in games i am winning. it happens so often i always block the player i am playing when it happens. i also make a cheating report because my mouse does not mess up like that any other time while using my laptop for anything else. clearly there is some sort of quirk the other player can use to manipulate more winning chances in the game. it used to anger me but i just block block block. it feels like a real ripoff.
Sudden mouse stuttering doesn't go away until you make an erroneous move.

You might lose some time, but you will make the moves you want.

It's happened to me a couple of times in rapid. I need to keep track if it's with players that I later find out were cheating (which has been surprisingly often!).

Yes. There could be a security issue.
But for both speed and security - I disable all bluetooth and wifi.
No wifi for the laptop. No wifi for the phone either. Turned off on both.
Nice light cheap cable mouse. Easy on the fingers and hands.
Fast light secure.
Separate LCD monitor means better sitting positions.
So does slanting the mousepad up with cardboard and wood.
And slanting the separate backlit keyboard up too. With cable.
Easy on the wrists. Good for security.
Shortage of USB ports? USB hubs to increase the number of ports are cheap.

How to fix computer bugs and glitches is a huge subject.
People hesitate to make recommendations because:
1) everybody's system is different.
2) when something new is tried there's a risk. The system could crash.
3) or whatever the bug is - isn't fixed. After investing time.
4) the list of hardware and software things to do is Enormous.
Especially software things to do.

You might lose some time, but you will make the moves you want.
Minimizing. Interesting.
Never tried that to fix a bug.

There's also the chess.com move settings.
Could that help with stuttering mouse? Switch the settings and then back again?
Unlikely to have time for that in a game. But it could be adjusted between games.
Its been many years since I touched my move settings
but I checked on them just now.
Clicked the settings wheel at bottom left and clicked on board and pieces.
Scrolled down to the move settings.
There's three options there.
Drag or click.
Click squares.
Drag pieces.
------------
I'm on the first one.
But maybe the third is better. Always save resources whenever possible.

it also happened to me first it stop working then it started working but again it started working butthen again dint work and now imy mouse is not working and i have to play on touchpad and i cant play bullet because i will be slow on touchpad

Is the mouse physically broken or is it a software thing?
If its an optical mouse there should be a red light showing underneath it.
If its a software thing there may be ways.
If interested - please read on. If not please skip.

This is what I do when I'm checking on devices. Not saying you should.
I go to windows settings and type in 'device manager'.
Or I go to Control panel - device manager - view - show hidden devices -
sometimes a yellow exclam mark will be visible when something has an issue.
I scroll down to whatever device I want to and click properties.
I see if it says the device is working properly or not.
Sometimes when a device is not working I 'uninstall it' - right there in the manager.
Even if it says its working.
Then I shut down the system. Completely. Not just restart. I unplug the electricity too.
On powerup the device has usually gotten reinstalled.
Just like that.
Another idea is 'update driver'. That has more options though.
These are just ideas. Not recommendations.

I use the windows setting - 'disable touchpad when mouse connected'.
I don't want to ever be using that touchpad unless its absolutely needed.
Multiple reasons.
I've been struggling to find similar issues via googling around, but I've noticed that sometimes when a position is hanging in the balance during a close game my mouse stops working. It's so peculiar that I can only assume it's software induced latency of some sort.
It has never occurred to me while I'm losing. It has only occurred while a position is even or I'm winning. Oftentimes my mouse will jump around the screen for long chunks at a time, moving seemingly on its own/making it's own plays like shuffling one of my pieces back and forth or very obviously blundering a piece. Yet, I constantly have my Activity Monitor up on my computer and notice no strange jump in % CPU, Memory, Energy, Disk, or Network usage which leads me to believe it isn't a problem on my computer's end. Again, this only ever happens in specific scenarios.
In the latest game this occurred to me, my rook simply swapped back and forth to give my opponent several free moves and then voila, the latency disappeared.
It feels useless to report games as I have no proof after the fact of the strange behavior, unless chess.com logs every move of every game forever, which is doubtful as that would be an incredible amount of data. And plus, how could they tell I wasn't just moving a piece back and forth or simply blundering?
I tried a number of times to record a video of games where this occurred, but as you can imagine, since this only seems to happen during games I'm winning against begrudging, disgruntled would-be cheaters, it is hard to capture on film — unless I were to record every one of my games for an extended period of time, which I might have to do from hereon out if there's no other way to resolve this.
Has anyone else faced such issues in live games?
