Lag between you and the server can cause that. As can having a mobile and cellular data connection at the same time as the device can hop connections and cause short disconnects and packet resends. Also, other traffic on your local network can potentially cause issues.

Finally, the site has been experiencing very high loads, so it's possible that if you're playing during peak times, you can see issues.
