do you want to play live chess or correspondance chess? in correspondance chess players have days to submit just one move, in live chess players only have several minutes for the whole game

Hover over "play" in the upper left corner with the mouse cursor and select online, tournament or live chess. Clicking on play shows you the same options.

As bigryoung said online chess can be from 1 day/move to 7 days/move.
