found him... hey all you can do is report him. but don't say stuff back. seriously. it seems like the retaliation is always what goes punished.
That's why I don't play live chess, it is racist.
By the way, I would like a goat. It must be kempt though
Why don't you just shrug it off in the first place. Just disable chat and report it later if you really wanted to. You got kicked because you used obscenities in your reply I would imagine.
Do you think the automated chess.com system understands what happened in your exhange with the guy? It doesn't. It's just triggered by certain words. It's not a matter of chess.com "siding" with anybody and to suggest such a thing is absurd.
he's right, although it's easier said than done to just shrug it off. but it's your best bet... less problems to just blow the jerk off and block him.
that is not good, first disable the chat then report it in the "Help and Support" button, by going to kohai is like taking a short cut and is not fair for kohai to do all the dirty work.

i'm not turnin chat off, that defeats the purpose of having it there... some people like to make friendly comments etc... turning it off would be like lettings them racist low life yobs win... i guess i shud have reported that... i'll have to figure out how...
As for the chess.com engine. I know its not racist (duh!), but its stupid and needs improving ... is the point i was trying to make. Seriuosly, you shouldn't be able to type things like "***** immigrant" (like that racist yob did) and get away with it! Its easy to program something that will take the forbidden words and the commen asci characters people use to replace common letters into consideration and stop such nonsense. A novice programmer could do it.
When you turn the chat off is only on to the one person. I think you are making the problem alot bigger where the solutions is there. Yes I agree what the other person has said was downright rude.
kco, you can't tell what people are going to make rude offensive comments in advance. I don't have a crystal ball. I enjoy some of the comments people make. Especially the older members. So you tell me all the people that are going to make offensive comments and I will turn the chat off when playing them. As for the thousands of other people I don't mind the friendly banter with them. In fact its cool.
If a few lines of code seems like a big solution to you. Then I dont know what to say. You almost sound like a politician to me! no offense.

Well, a big mistake...is responding with bad language. It's natural to feel insulted/hurt/shocked when first reading someone's lack of humanity/racism...but breathe a second and then it's usually just funny because it says something about that person and the world at large...these things are out there. Do your best to put it in perspective...not just in this case but in your future. Plus giving a nasty response just makes them feel more justified in their nasty behavior...it's like giving them what they want. Try responding next time with or
. If nothing else, at least your mother would be pleased. Good luck Asad.
Asad,
Rise above it my friend. He pertains to be a Law student which isn't very difficult these days as to get an 'A' at A Level all you need to do is spell your name correctly. In his very imaginative 'About Me' bio he tries hard to sound erudite whilst the syntax and grammar he uses is incorrect. Fortunately, Chess isn't a barometer of intelligence merely of spatial awareness. It really doesn't matter if you were born in Europe or not; his comment was deeply bigoted and it misses the point that society is enriched by its multi-ethnicity - how dull would life be if we lived in an enclave of White Anglo-Saxon Protestants?

I have to admit that I too get annoyed when people start becoming insulting during a game. I have developed a techique that I rather enjoy. But, to do this requires one of two things: Either you have to play unrated (which I'm a big advocate off since I play mainly blitz and I have a 3 year old that often interupts my games) or you have to not care about your rating.
So, what I do is agree with them say "I'm very sorry for having offended you" and then I offer a draw or resign. You can almost hear the jaw drop on the other end of the internet. It's really rather amusing. Sometimes a dialogue then ensues which you can continue to "role play" and have fun with, or you can get real and go in some other direction. This way of doing things is especially fun if I'm winning :)
But, basically my method relies on the fact that I now play only unrated. Once I got my rating to a respectable level where I can attract good competition, no reason to play rated anymore since my goal for establishing it has been met. It also makes me much less concerned with finishing games with trolls, morons or rude people.

a very well thought out concise reply, i agree.....
That dim whit, calls me a ********* immigrant, I say something back and chess.com kicks me off?? ... and then deducts my points from a winning position. What a load of bull. I wouldn't mind but I was born in Europe. I can't believe chess .com sides with racist yobs like ******
