Unfair - Unrated Players

I Think it is pretty much unfair when we play players who are unrated (assigned 1200) on chess.com who are really above 2000.

Recently i played one such player, who was 2000+ on blitz but never had played standard. I was forced to play since i was taking part in the world mind games round 2, and i went on to lose. For this, being a 1732 at the time, i lost a bunchload of points ( - 49 ) for losing. This is something that needs to be fixed! Please revert to the FIDE system of Rating Performances... Any views are appreciated. Thanks

This is a really sad story. Let me give you a hug.

I don't know too much about rating systems. But I guess if you real strengh is above your current rating because of this, you'll recover the points sooner or later.

More of the "I lost rating points" whine.  

Anyway, this can happen also with OTB FIDE ratings.
