Very annoying issue in live chess

In my Live Chess search queries, I put my Outgoing rating on -100 because when I play the pool I want to play against players of more or less equal rating or higher. But every time it is readjusted to "Any", meaning I get paired with players rated vastly below what I asked for. I've adjusted this setting tens of times to -100 but it always readjusts to Any, putting my rating on the line because I refuse to abort my games.

I would like to know two things:
1. What causes this mechanic?
2. Can it be fixed?

Check your default options in Settings > Live Chess under Outgoing and modify it there and Save. If it keeps changing after that please reply.

You need to make sure you click [Save].

I always changed it when I was in Live and thought I could presume that those changes were also permanent. Is that somehow not the case?

They should be permanent untl you change them again, as long as you click [Save]. Did you?

Why, yes. Tens of times. The issue remains. Adjusted it in the normal browser settings (away from Live, that is), adjusted it in the settings when I'm in Live and see that the issue is on again, press "Save" and next time I'm faced with the same issue. I don't think that after 15 years on the site and tens of thousands of games I would have requested for a solution to this issue if clicking "Save" was the solution.

I believe the apps are going to start syncing with the website to which didn't used to be the case. Not 100% sure that fully in place or not.

I always adjust on the desktop. I don't play live games on the app that often, but I do keep up with my Daily games.
Yesterday I had to adjust my settings.
Today I had to adjust my settings.
Yes I save.

Again: what is causing this, and when can I expect it to be solved so that I don't have to expect to be paired up in the pool against people half my rating?

This issue is still ongoing. Has it been looked into?

What mobile client are you on? Android or iOS?

Next time this happens can you try to retrace the order of events? I'm trying to reproduce but not having any luck. 
A bullet-pointed list of actions would help us debug this. Something like:

  • On Monday logged in on desktop, played live game, adjusted setting
  • Tuesday played daily move on mobile
  • Wednesday played more live games on desktop, setting reset. 

Obviously the more detailed the better. This has been an elusive bug and we've struggle to reproduce it on command to identify the fix.

The last update is from December 7th. On Saturday I adjusted my settings and played a bullet game. Next I played a few moves in Daily on both my pc and my mobile app and might have sent a few live chess invites. On Sunday I played another few moves in Daily games on my mobile app. Today I played another bullet game and proceeded to check my settings, and had to adjust those settings again.
