I am no expert but it looks to me like white was winning since black had no imminent counterattack ready against white's king.  I don't see much black could have done to stop 27. Qxg6 28. Nf5 29. Qxg7 or something like that.  I think my rating is lower than yours but that is what it looks like to me :D

You were completely utterly winning. Below the conclusion of the game according to Fritz 10. Though I can understand that you wouldn't calculate like a computer (neither do I) I find it odd that you agree the draw just after you brought in your Queen with check. Usually that is where you really must start looking for the win, not the draw.

after trying all sorts of options it looks like it really is a close game...he can mate you easily after all since he just needs his queen or his rook in the a file. It still seems you have a slight advantage since your knight isn't in as bad a position as his bishop.

interesting analysis. I thought you might try 27.Rf3 but it leaves you vulnerable to mate with only your knight defending the space his rook could go...I thought he might move his queen elsewhere as27...Qd4 or 27...Qa5 sets him up for a mate, but he is one move short if he tries this :D
