I agree IM.
''Was your opponent a good/bad sport?"
And I think (I hope I am wrong} bad sports get paired with engine users.
I don't play on this site anymore, so i don't know.
If we know they are an engine user we close the account. They are not paired with anyone.
Computer users should not be confused with bad sportsmen nor should they be kicked.
They should be "flagged as computer users" and only paired with similar flagged computer user.
They should not be able to see their own "flag" but everybody else should same for name and shame etc. Lets say some one challenges them or invites them to a team the invitor and team members should see the flag. And someone who tells them is probably married
Mods should say "you poor thing" only, perhaps not even that.

Thank you chess.com. I got an email that you guys are checking my games for engine user opponents. I appreciate the fast responses.
That message is unrelated to poor sport and only happens when we detect someone abandoned their game. You could never cause someone to get that warning by thumbs downing them.
AH HA!
So,...label someone a poor sport and boom. This can now be gamed. Nice one Chess.com.
@chungle, not to be rude or anything, but you probably should have read the message more closely.
It clearly says that "Your opponent has been warned for "abandoning the game" specifically, and therefore triggering that message cannot happen when you :tdown (chess.com emoji) a player.

Not the warning. The label: Poor Sport. After every game one is presented with the option of up/down thumbing. So, you're saying "poor sport" in the warning isn't related in any way shape or form to the option of labeling someone a "Poor Sport" after a game?
If not then the difference is confusing since the words are the same. Please change the wording of the warning to not use "poor sports". Thanks.
Mr.Mod Why ask "Poor Sport"
Is it because you really can't determine if someone abondined on purpose or not
Is it because you really can't define fair play etc.

To be honest I am wondering for quite some time what consequences this good/bad sport question has
I downvote them, if they use my lack of speed to flag me in drawn positions, other than that I vote them up. But I really have the impression, that this function has really no implications ![]()
On another famous server there used to be some kind of ranking in terms of sportmanship. I thought chess.com might use it for a similar purpose. But I guess nothing is planned in this direction?
I am the type of chess.com player that never accept a rematch. I prefer different opponents in each and every game. Am I prone of getting a lot to "bad sport" score?
So if you lose you wouldn't want to play again to see how your opponent play's with the other colour?
I always accept rematches, I thinks its good sportsmanship to. Just my opinion.
Tendency if you rematch, there is a possibility opponent will use chess engine. And I just like different types of playing styles, and different openings and variations each and every game as chess training. In Swiss system tournaments, you meet a different opponent every game.
