weird time problem.

So I'm playing my last game and around four moves in my opponent starts to run down the clock. I think that he is probably just working on his next move but he ends up running down his whole time. Finally his time ran out.....nothing happens. Then suddenly it shows him move and the times are switched! It  shows that I run out of time so I lose and his time is fully restored. Any ideas?? Has this happened to any of you guys?

yep. several times. I think that with Firefox it happens less frequently (my experience):

I just finished playing a game where my opponents time kept restoring itself. he got down to 2 minutes then all of a sudden he had 6 minutes left in the game. i noticed from the start his time seemed to be going slower than mine but then i saw that it restored itself. is this someone cheating or is this a bug?

i started a thread here on chess.com about poor sports who run down the clock on purpose, and someone mentioned something about people cheating the system for points in live chess.  i can't remember if they said it's happened here at chess.com, but i know they said it had happened at a different chess site.  if memory serves me correctly, they claimed that the perps would request a draw so many times and then somehow magically they would win the game by resignation, or something like that.

the connection problem thingy seems likely the culprit

i seem to recall a time when my clock was going up one second and then down 2 seconds repeatedly.  sometimes chess.com is just screwy

i especially hate it when i am unable to make a legal move

finally, once when this was happening for the umteenth time, my opponent suggested that i refresh the page; and, sure enough, it worked
