What is going on? I try to play live chess and it keeps timing me out with time still on the board? Am I missing something? Can I not play a traditional game of chess live? This is irritating.

You know that you've been playing bullet chess, don't you?

 

The time control was two minutes each for the whole game and one second added for each move.

 

Select a longer time control.
