most people who dont rematch are scared cowards thats y they dont play Laughing

i believe that all of us doesn't want a rematch because we dont want to lose our precious times to unchallenging ones. Chess is all about tactics, you may run or decline but its all about tactics. Those who complain or criticize to much are just nothing but sore losers.:)

granitoman

In online games i always rematch, in live games  i never rematch cause i usually just have the time for 1 30 min match in my lunch break. That's it, don't take it personally.

If your opponent declines a rematch, just make another open challenge. Don't take it personally as an insult or whatever. There are hundreds of possible reasons why he decline.

1. "Rematch" by definition means that they have already played (and likely won), so your statement is idiotic.

2. Most people who want a rematch are sore losers

1.rematch by definition means they have already played, which is obvious Wink

2.most people who want rematch are not sore losers

LoveYouSoMuch

that's true, most aren't sore losers. given your wording, not sure if you fit the category though

that's fantastic, it's good to chat after insted of runnig away, players can make friends, analysis the game find mised mates  ,that could be nice.

He didn´t say that he chats with his oponnents.

If I have time to continue playing and I´m not too tired, I will give a rematch only if I liked the first game. If I didn´t like the way my oponnent plays I wouldn´t play again.

DelCheMethod

So I'm curious...how many times will you lose before you don't want a rematch?

And since you don't know who you are playing when you play online, why not just start a new game and try your best not to lose that one?

Any time someone bitches about not getting a rematch, it boils down to "I'm a better player than you, you just got lucky and beat me and now you have to play me again in order that I dominate you like I should have in the first game if I hadn't hung my Queen on move 6! The Parham opening ROX dude!!!"

beerpatzer

I rematch only in unrated (aka "friendly") games...

He didn´t say that he chat "instead of running away", he can chat on facebook with a friend. He isn´t saying that he stays on the game to talk with the random oponnent.

The rematch button should be replaced with the "You think you're better than me?!?" button.

all is fair in war!

I have been left hanging on the 3rd game to many times. So I just dont give rematches anymore.

OnStar

I've accepted rematches often, but to be honest, a request for a rematch from a total stranger is kind of creepy.  There are a million chess players on this site.  Anyone can find appropriately skilled competition at any time of day no matter where you live on the planet.  Why not just create a new came and accept the next random stranger that you're paired with?

When I get rematch requests from strangers, it has always been after they've lost.  It seems as if they're not able to accept the fact they lost and want to even the score.  To reiterate, to even the score with a total stranger.  It's one thing if your dealing with a friend.  Or if it was actually going to be hard to find another opponent.  But to fixate on beating the person that just beat you is kind of creepy in my opinion.

FanOfCarlsen

When I win against high rated opponent psychologically I feel to have made great achievement!! I also feel that it is great and I feel very happy!! I also realize that its rare event!! Now if opponent challenges for rematch I get afraid that I may lose with certainty!! So i decline!! This must be common psychology assuming that I am not anyone special. So people don't accept rematch in general!
