What is the better advice you can give to someone who have his first tournament?

1. Have fun!

2. Pay attention to time management. Budget your game accordingly. For example for a G/60 time control, => 60 mins/40 moves(average) means you have a 1.5 minutes / move. If you factor out the opening and trivial moves (recaptures, etc.), that means you can organize a time-budget of 30 seconds for trivial moves and 5 minutes for a critical position (even 10 minutes if it means winning/losing immediately!)

3. NEVER have a heavy lunch ... it is suicidal in tournaments! Instead, have mini-meals spread out throughout the day/days. :)

4. Get a good night's rest the day before.

dont just move

if you are in an strategically tough position make a plan ,dont think about the time

after the plan is made the moves will come out instantly ,keep an eye on tactics

dont lose to the pressure.Wink
