What is the marking system in live chess

Why points/ marks vary in abandonment, resign, time out and check mate? And by how much points or marks are allotted in each category?

I believe you are talking about ratings and I think you believe that the increase or decrease in your ratings depends on whether or not you resign or are checkmated or lose by time forfeit.

You are mistaken.  What matters is the rating of your opponent and your own Glicko rating score. Read about ratings on chess.com and the Glicko scores here. https://www.chess.com/article/view/chess-ratings---how-they-work

They used to never rate a game that went less than 3 full moves. Now I believe that they rate losses by abandonment or abort for people who abort or disconnect too often.
