I like to eat a massive spoonful of coffee & then wait 5-10 minutes till the heart attack feelings start kicking in. Once I feel me dear old heart start skipping beats I know I will win

Plenty of sleep. No alcohol in the previous 24 hours. Nothing else pending (chores and such). A small meal about an hour before playing. Plenty of good quality tea.
On one such day I played 11 rapid games in a row and won them.
I agree with the coffee and tea (both). Some aerobic exercise but I find lifting heavy weights seems to tire me out in some way. Music also helps.
Now that's enough giving away of secrets, I want my rating to go up, not down!
