Thanks, Martin! ...seems that it should be the default view for open challenges but Chess.com is apparently now aware of (UX) design -- "User experience (UX) design is the process design teams use to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users." They'll realize at some point that it ties to revenue.

I know the site that metrics on things that get used often. My guess is that wasn't a highly used feature, so it's not front and center. Plus, most seeks are automatically paired, with less common time controls sticking around for long.
