Why are some people much better/worse at bullet than at longer time controls?

I have seen many users on chess.com who have bullet ratings that are hundreds of points higher than their blitz/rapid ratings and vice versa. What are some reasons why these discrepancies could exist?

Each rating is a different type of rating and some might be more inflated than others. Just because someone has a better bullet rating than blitz doesn't mean he is a better bullet player.

OK, so I am a little bit new to this. Bullet / Blitz??

I just played a game with someone and I was in an EXTREMELY sound, winning position. Then I hear some kind of little TICK, TICK, TICK noise and a moment later I lose! (Something to do with time.) WHAT? WHY?? Very frustrating when I do not understand what they did to me. Just not CHESS, frankly.

You ran out of time on your clock and lost on time. If you don't like that, play longer time controls.
