Why is each of my rapid games is suddenly worth more rating points?

I hope this isn't a terribly stupid question, but I've noticed since my rapid rating passed 1300 or so, suddenly each win/loss resulted in around +/- 15 or 20 rating points, instead of the usual 7-9 points. I've looked at the recent games of my opponents at a similar level, and their games are resulting in rating changes of 7, 8, 9 points. Is there a mathematical or other reason for this?

I did some research about that matter, and found an article that answer it: https://support.chess.com/article/210-how-do-ratings-work-on-chess-com

Basically, this is because Chess.com hasn’t seen any games from you in a while, and there is no way to tell whether you’ve been practicing and getting better other places, or if you haven’t been playing at all.  I have seen your rapid games, and I think you were playing in each while a game.

Hope it helps

Yes that was my only guess. It's true I have been playing rapid time formats much less frequently the past few months. Still quite odd though that in my last game, I gained 24 points and my opponent only lost 9.

If you haven't played games in a while, it's likely that your current rating is more inaccurate, so you'll gain or lose more points. Eventually your rating will stabilize. The same reasoning goes for your opponent.

I think by doing that, it is the best way to deal with it

Ah yes I see, it's because my glicko RD has increased due to infrequent games. Thanks for that link.

I was rated at 372 then after I won the first game of the day it went up 52 points.

Still, there are oddities. Why is my bullet rating 547 when my average opponent is 471 and I LOSE half of my games?
