Why the hate?

I understand that chess is frustrating. Yes, I had MANY MANY frustrating losses where i played like, tbh, crap. And especially hurts when its a time win for the other guy. But still, when you blunder, its not fair to abuse the other guy isn't it? :/ When somebody has just a king but is trying to win on time, okay, that situation is understandable. But this?

It's kind of hard to read what was said.

But I guess he said,"Die".

/That's certainly rude but really not that bad here.  He may have said it with love. That's why he should have included an emoticon to let you know if he was really serious or was just kidding.

//At least he didn't go on and offer you 100 draws.

"Die"
"Slow Death"

There are jerks everywhere. Yes, they are jerks, but no, there is not much we can do about it. So just ignore them.

playing chess with your friends does have it's advantages.

Maybe your opponent was talking to himself. You could have been courteous and reply, "After you, sir. Be my guest."

It's the Internet, don't worry about it and move on. This is what anonymity results in.

Yah. You get keyboard commandos who find bravery in attacking others while hiding behind a screen.

Do not "name and shame". That is against the rules of chess.com as well. Report abuse through the appropriate channels.

Also you said to him "You played reckless." Please understand that"reckless" here is an adverb. Correct English would be "You played recklessly."

It is kind of like the people who say "Don't take it personal", instead of "peronally."

millions of players, a tiny minority are cretins; welcome to the real world

I don't see anything wrong with the your opponents comments.

Maybe he/she is not a chelsea fan.

*I'm a chelsea fan*

If enough reports are received against a player for rude remarks, they could have their chat button disabled...three strikes and you're out! Or maybe have them write out Ben Franklin's, "The Morals of Chess," by hand before they can be reinstated. Smile

Ridiculous reason

Die, slow death not offensive? Wonder what you would class as offensive. Come on Arsenal!?

Obviously he/she has some issues but making comments like ....die...slow death is quite common.

There are a lot less jerks in the 1400+ level than 1200. Motivation to improve.

Likhit1: not really, I don't pay to be insulted.

Getting a membership gives you access to learning materials.I don't see how that has anything to do with live chess.Either way you get insulted by some jerks.Membership is for improvement of your game, has nothing to do with live chess.

Personallly, I got fed up with the offensive nature of 'gg' in live.

So I don't play live a lot.
