Why Twitch is forced on the chess.com website?

Actually, I opened YouTube and the live was on YouTube, But there was a Twitch logo at the bottom, which why it was confusing.

I am not a member on Twitch as thousands others as well. As we well know, Twitch often has ad breaks, in those ad breaks we lose what is happening. I see now chess kids playing on the chess.com live, but it plays through Twitch. So, why chess.com is forcing its users that? chess.com should have started a live via their YouTube channel, instead of forcing everybody else to watch through the Twitch platform....
I don't think it is forced. For years, Chess.com made its own videos and broadcasts which occasionally attracted thousands of viewers.
But then Twitch came along ten years ago and having made made tons of money from millions of other online gamers, Twitch was able to spend enough money to convince a few leading chess players to stream. The successful ones drew tens of thousands of viewers who were willing to watch ads and sometimes willing to pay subscriptions to watch compelling streamers free of ads.
I think Chess.com just took advantage of all the available streamed content, It relieved them of the responsibility to produce all that content.
I guess you believe that because you are a premium member, all content should be ad free.

I hope it stays like that. I will never become a member of Twitch (as playing games other than chess) is truly a loss of time for me. Having a super automated gun, sitting motionless on a chair and killing virtually on a screen would never be a future version of me... I find that degenerative tbh. And I hope it stays like that, since, already the live view on the main chess.com page is really aggressive towards non-Twitch members. It's useless with all those commercial breaks.

They even embed Kick streams from a content creator in their events page that blares out loudly when you go to the page, and isn't even their own content. I guess pushing a casino-backed site at anyone who goes to check on the latest events is just their modus operandi nowadays.

@glamdring27 As I have said I will never create an account on Twitch, since the only game I play is chess. And if I had an account there I would support all that. So, for all those that do not have a Twitch account, that section is not accessible, with the ad breaks from Twitch every now and then.
Yes I saw the streamer streaming from Kick and I thought to myself "Wow, did my thread help?"
Kudos to Hikaru for streaming on Kick and not on Twitch. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
