I play a lot of rapid games (10 +0) and occasionally find myself in a situation in the opening where chess.com alerts me that "my game will autoresign" if I don't move more quickly. This seems to happen within the first 12 moves or so, but not after.
It's not uncommon for me to want to think a minute or so before I reach move 12, so it is frustrating to be forced to move quickly at certain times. I understand this in when the game is just staring (within the first two moves or so), but later on it can be problematic, and it's not uncommon for me to blunder as a result.
Is there a way for chess.com to change this feature, whose purpose I understand, to only activate during the first 2 moves of the game?
I agree with you entirely. My opinion is that time is there to be used, you can use five minutes on your first few moves if you want, that’s the player’s choice. I HATE thinking about a series of moves and having that stupid, intrusive auto resign pop-up break my concentration and pressure me.
I play blitz and sometimes like in my last game I was completely wining on pieces and time but suddenly opposition clock stops and start getting you will be auto resign in 25 sec the time msg stopped my time also got exhausted and I lost a completly wining game on time it’s so frustrating have this issue resolved this has happed 4-5 time to me
I think it happens in the online tournaments so people don’t stall. Not sure though.
I think this might be the case. I recall that it happened in an "arena". The suggestion that this is unique to tournaments, and specifically to arenas, is plausible.

Does anyone else find this troublesome?
