So if I read that right, Black mates on move #5 from the beginning of a chess game?
5.. Nxh1 mate

Yes, you have to find a possible game. This sort of problens are really nice :)
After someone gets the solution, i will post another similar one i know of!

I don't think it's possible. Knight needs at least 4 moves to get to h1 (for example Ng8-F6-e4-g3xh1. Wait a minute 1.d4 Nf6, 2. f3 Ne4 3. Be3 Ng3, 4. Kf2 e6 (or any other neutral move) 5. Qe1 Nxh1. Other variations include white playing 1.d3 and Knight ghoing to g3 via h5 of h6-f5.

Here's one solution. I get the feeling that there may be others?

Ok, try this one!
2 Chessplayers talking:
"how did your game go the other night joe?"
"Not too well i'm afraid, i was white."
"That's a good thing!"
"No. that's bad, because i have opened 1.f3"
"Oh, that's bad."
"No, at first it looked good, because he only played pawn moves"
"Oh, that's good."
"Not at all, because his last move was 4...d4 MATE"
Can you recostruct the game?
Another solution, and the only one I actually knew to this problem. This also allows for two transpositions, by interchanging Qd1-e2 and f2-f3.

piyushbothra25 - That was a good answer. I think black is probably winning too.
I got another. See if you can solve it for 6. Nd6#:

I thought the actual task is to create a game that starts 1. e4 and ends with 5... Nxh1# (not just 5. ... Nxh1)

I don't think so. The title says he he got mated in just 5 moves and didn't know how that happend, so he was looking to improve. Another guy said he's not good since he tried 1.f3 and it didn't work so he's just looking for ideas besides pushing pawns. That's why piyushbothra25 and I were showing some opening traps, cause there good answers for opening troubles.

post #7 : I doubt it is possible. I cant make it without even starting with f3. Maybe you meant d5#?
How did the move from the title happen?
