1.Re6 and white wins. Am I missing something? 1.Re6 Qxe6 Nc5+
amazing draw
I don't get it... what's wrong with 4... Qxf6? (then 5 e8=Q Qg7#, or 5 e8=N Qh8#)
Are you sure the original position is correct?
Methinks the whole thing has got flipped somehow; White should actually be moving down the board in the position as posted. The correct FEN ought to be 7b/8/kq6/8/8/1N2R3/K2P4/8
It's a study by Leonid Kubbel, by the way.
oh nice, its a Stalemate, The king woudn't be able to move after the queen takes the rook.
It's not stalemate... the white pawn can move.
Rd3 wins for white.
Read the game notes, Re6 (you called it d3) does not win... Qa7 holds.
Ok, so we're guessing that:
1. The puzzle is upside down... white is at the top! (It's a convention that white starts at the bottom, otherwise we won't know where we are).
2. All the moves in the solution are also incorrectly annotated.
This would make sense of the puzzle.
p.s the puzzle "as is" although flawed, is probably still a draw, just not "amazing".

thats exactly what I thought!
Rd3 wins for white.

Isn't Qa7 illegal?

No, read the solution...the first move is 1 Ne5 therefore the pawn stands on e7, not d2. The problem as it stands is flawed.
