Chess puzzle generation using AI - questionnaire

Dear chess friends,

As a final-year university student, I am working on my thesis titled Chess puzzle generation. I would kindly like to ask you to complete this questionnaire — it will greatly help me with my research and, at the same time, give you a chance to solve a few interesting puzzles. The questionnaire is fully anonymous.

The questionnaire contains a total of 14 chess problems, some of which were generated using AI, while others come from the human games (from Lichess puzzle database). In all problems, White checkmates in three moves, with the first and second moves being the only winning ones (assuming Black plays the best possible defense).

Your task will be to write down the solution to the given puzzles (in English or Czech notation, e.g., e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bb5), indicate whether they were generated by AI, and evaluate the aesthetic quality of each puzzle (on a scale from 1 – unattractive to 5 – beautiful).

The questionnaire is intended for players of all skill levels (puzzles are not too difficult, research was mainly focused on puzzle aesthetics). It is possible to answer just one problem or only some of the three items mentioned above. However, if possible, I would very much appreciate it if you could complete all of them. Filling out the questionnaire should take you approximately 20 minutes.

Thank you very much and I wish you an enjoyable solving experience! :)
