Simple but difficult might work out better... simple but complicated is a contradiction..

If there's a lot of variation, do you care to explain?

If you termed it difficult, might work better for you. Well, that's your opinion you're entitled for it. Complicated, means: having many connected parts (on the second move!). Explaining the variations might difficult for me. I already gave the first move, try to figure and work out the second and third moves. Thanks for the comment.

Let me rephrase: "simple but difficult" is a better title. Or "easy, but complicated." "simple" means "not complicated," and "complicated" means "not simple." You can't have something that is both simple and complicated.

Also, people generally go through to the end of at least one possibility on a chess puzzle.

Yes, I agree with yo, simple and complicated are of opposition in meaning. However, please consider the word BUT between the two words, simple but complicated, meaning: "something that is true in spite of either being or seeming contrary to what has just been said. Anyhow, thanks for the comment, suggestion well taken, it would somehow improve my grammar.
