Countering mate with mate

This position arose in one of my blitz games. At least two solutions are available, depending on what white moves.

Note: For the first solution, after 2. Rf2, another faster mate would be 2. ... Rxf2 3. Kg1 Qe1#.

Nice puzzle and did white use the first pos. or the second?

White used the second. In fact, the game was like this:

1st one was brilliant

2nd one is another version, cool still

on move 28 ne3+ did you have it all worked out already in a blitz game?? if so very well done, 

In first version 2. ... Rxf2+ is the fastest and most straightforward line, it doesn't work well as a puzzle set up like this. 2nd version is a fine easy puzzle.

well played.. some ppl might actually just try to defend the white mate move (or even don't know about it) and in the process lose their chance to win.. but you actually saw it and won.. congratz.. :)

Both were nice.

That's an awesome game. I didn't see the possibilities of mate.
