There is a mate in three, but I needed to use my computer to find it, so I don't want to spoil it. It is very prettyl

You could try 1. Nxe6+ Ke8 ( 1... Kg8 2. Rxg7+ Rxg7 3. Rxg7# ) 2 Qa8+ Kd7 3. Nc5#

Yep. And in both of these mates, every escape square is covered by exactly one white piece. I found the mainline hard to find because it is such an elegant mate.
