I was never a fan of the grob/spike (1.g4), but have seen it in blitz once or twice. I guess it's technically not the dumbest though, you'd have to figure 1. a3 or 1.h3 would be. However, some people play those moves to play their black repertoirs as white...
I think it takes more than 1 move to justify a dumb opening. Any 1st move is not by itself defeating, even 1. g4.
