But how do you know black's last move was ...f7-f5?

Dude, you have to figure that out. Otherwise how can you do the mate?

PS. Why did you show my solution?!!

I contend that your problem has no solution. That is why I did not bother to hide it.

Say you walked into a room and two players were playing this position. They've told you it's white to move. Isn't it far more likely that Black's last move was something OTHER than ...f7-f5?

hey the en passant is illegal because any move i play is incorrect. i think u forgot to add the en passant. add it or else the puzzle is unsolvable

Rather too hard. It has no solution, as en-passant is not allowed in this position by the official Chess Compositions Codex.

You can also add that the initial position is illegal.

SacrifycedStoat
#6 that puzzle is improve nectar you did not provide black’s previous move. Also, you did not include en passant in the puzzle at all.
SacrifycedStoat
*impossible because, not improve nectar.

I hate autocorrect.

And not being able to edit comments.

This one is a joke that I posted on this site earlier, but I'd like to post it here again. White to move and mate in 1.

You may read the FIDE Laws of Chess carefully to solve this. I think the idea behind this joke problem is still sound under current rules taking effect from 1 January 2023, unlike some famous ones, e.g. promotion into an opponent's piece or a piece already on the board, castling with a promoted rook, parrying the check by putting one's king in triple check, etc. which have all been fixed in the later versions of FIDE rules.
