Here's the same setup, only you checkmate White this time.
Good point, tmvx. I missed that, and I guess whoever made the puzzle did, too. (I can't remember who did.)
If anyone else has any favorite helpmates, feel free to post them!
May be without Queen :

Thanks. I took your advice.
what's a helpmate?
A helpmate is where both players cooperate to checkmate one player. They can get very strange!
1...Ke7 2.Qxh5 Rg8 3.Qe5# This is an absolutely terrible helpmate example (sorry if you composed it) because it can be helpmate in two but even that has loads of possibilities. You should add the checkmate had to be RxN. That would make it more interesting.
I've been looking around on this site, and I haven't seen any forums for helpmate problems, so I'm going to start one. Post your favorite helpmates here, original or not.
To post a helpmate, set up a chess problem in the starting position of the helpmate and give the first move. Then, move down far enough so people can't see both diagrams at the same time, and post the position after the first move as a puzzle with the other side to move.
That was probably a bit confusing, so here's an example: Helpmate in 5
The order of moves can vary in this problem, but it can be solved for both sides in 5. (This is not original.) Black moves first here, so the goal is to checkmate Black.
Remember- don't scroll down until you solve the previous problem!
