You got it right. What I was saying is that if you were able to see what a person tried, the people who post '1st' wouldn't even do it. Therefore, if only those people who have completed it can post and you can easily see what they did, there would be no more problems (or the '1st' posters would get really good)
for starters,you dont need to checkmate.instead,you could do Rxd4+and then take the free rook.
Yeah, if there was a log to show the users and how many moves they tried, you'd see a lot of "easy" by user-someguy and then check the log and see
user-someguy: move 1 (3 incorrect tries) -- move 2 (0 incorrect tries) -- move 3 (4 incorrect tries) etc lol
