? Point??

I am just wondering how chess.com rates their puzzles

Arisktotle

This is not about rating a puzzle, it is about the outrageous move Qf5+. Did you make that up? Or did you get the diagram wrong?

magipi

It seems to be a real puzzle. Bizarre.

It's clearly duck invasion time. On your guard!

Ronnocus12341

Ok, so it's black to move. Still, shouldn't be a 2000 rated puzzle

checkmated0001

maybe it was a typo and it was supposed to be a 200 rated puzzle.

EdibleNummies

I am a 2000 puzzle player and although most of the puzzles are difficult we occasionally get the easiest mate in ones or free queens, maybe chess.com thinks that we will overthink it???

EdibleNummies

I think chess.com thinks you will rush and take with the queen and get taken by the rook, still should be a 600 puzzle

Apparently, almost 40% of solvers fail it. How? Why? Nobody knows.

I think the reason a lot of people fail it is because it seems too obvious and they suspect a better tactic is present than just taking the queen. Probably a bunch if people making “hope” moves that lead to what could be something they don’t see all the way through. But yeah, the rating does that make sense

Of* and doesn’t make sense*

I know! It's the same people who fail to place their left foot in front of their right foot when accomplishing walking.
