However, you need the knight to be on g8 to check the king, and there is that problem with black playing Kh8. White won't be able to get to it.
Then, I put it in Stockfish and I won't say the solution more, but it has to do with the h8 square. Interesting.
Thanks for the response. My first idea was queening the f pawn. When I realized that was impossible l noticed the black king was short of squares but at the time couldn't figure out the correct maneuver for a mate.
