(1) Just skip the first two moves and start with 1.... Qh4+. That gives you the same position.
(2) 7... Qe2+ wins the queen but so does 7... Nd5+ - without giving up the knight.

Black completely removed the mate threat at f7 in 9 moves instead of starting with the much more obvious 1. ... Ne7. How ?
