Well, I admit I would not have found it in a game, but I knew that this was a puzzle and usually the first move is not moving out of the way, at least doing it without making threats. I noticed how much pressure was on his kingside and speculated that sacrificing the queen would weaken it enough for me to do some damage. The rest of the moves simply came naturally.
