I like playing this every now and then in blitz as white, it is like sounder Kings Gambit:
Sounder? Black can play d5!?, and I would be scared to play on white's side.

"sounder" than kings gambit is not too hard... I've played many games with this, including d5 by my opponent, and I still play it. I would strongly advise you to not play any dynamic or tactical openings if you find this scary to play as white. I ran this through Fritz 13 once, who gave it a positive score after looking at it for a while.

Computers can't play openings. Or rather, 1000 years of human analysis > 5-10 minutes of computer analysis

I'm not ready to trust Fritz's evaluation, as black appears to be the one grabbing the initiative with d5, Ng4, etc. I would be thrilled to face this opening as black.

there are no tactical downsides to playing it, according to Fritz. I find that, in my experience, which I also rely on, white can get a large attack and has no positional downsides. Or, if white is adventurous, he can sac a piece and get a huge initiative. I will take all offers to play, unless I physically can not (I will be away from computer for a while coming up, needs to be at least 5 days/ move). If anyone wants to start a few games, even if you are higher rated than me, go ahead!

What is Fritz's response to d5?
Fritz is having trouble picking between Bxe5 and exd5. It is currently at around 20-ply, and I am going to let it run for a bit and see what it thinks.

True, but aside from that minor glitch the opening is sound. With so many available moves to choose from, chances are that black will not be able to find the best move. And if black plays any move other than Qh4 (which is very likely), then white's control of the e4 and f5 squares gives him a trememdous advantage.

yeah, it's not like we're playing World Championship games here, what are the chances they'll see Qh4?
The title says it all!
