mate in six (my first puzzle)
good eye but if cxb3 then axb3 and it is same just prolonged a single move 8) I made this puzzle when I was very new to chess,my standard was less than 1000 in the game I believe
Right, blacks king shouldn't voluntarily put himself against the boards edge. You can always start a mate similar to the many suggested or even the original.
I really never thought I'd get comments on this. I mean I posted it and within 10 mins prawn proved my puzzle to be inferior to something he just whips up. Six months later I get a compliment and within a few days I've got USCF NM Tonydal commenting on not only my puzzle but following it and commenting on another's suggestion.
Thank you Victor you re-sparked the thread. Now I don't feel like everyone is just viewing my puzzle and laughing. Which is okay with me if you do. I won't be offended one bit. I don't think that it's too bad of a puzzle. Considering the fact that its my first one and it was from a true game of mine.
so I think that truly makes this a mate in four instead of the mistaken six(which is actually 7)
I like Qa7+ its a nice dance the Q+K have short but nice
BTW I know why I saw the mate in six(7) the way i did. At the time I was just starting to work on getting all my pieces involved in the game and I found a way that did just that.
Not hard I think but I use in game. opponent made mistake mate in two. Here is the full mate in six
Can you spot the move my opponent made in the game allowing mate in 2?
