on move two cant the queen just take the knight and mate since the bishop on g3 is also attacking the knight

Yes, and not the only flaw in the puzzle.... interposing with the Bishop first opens up the 6th rank for the queen to capture the knight....

It was the theme I was after -- tough to pull off properly though.

Qxb8 is not possible because of immediate Kxb8 .. Don't know if I am not seeing something here.

I think he changed the puzzle or something...I mean now there are 2 dark squared bishops.

I did change the puzzle -- for some reason the extra bishop and Queen appeared back on their original squares.

It wasn't material to the outcome of the puzzle, but it did look funny so I've removed the extra pieces.
