If you can't queen your last pawn, is it possible to checkmate with a bishop and knight?  Probably not that easy.  I like the trade off with the queen, but taking the knight and then re-queening would have net you a better tactical advantage as well

as well as protecting the pawn the king was about to swallow up

Yes, it is possible, but it is one of the hardest mates to accomplish.

You think leaving Black with the Queen is a good idea? Im willing to discuss. This was a puzzle I made years ago. I added the pawns on b7 and e3 for added effect.

I wanted to post many puzzles in one posting but ran into dificulties. I'll have to post them one by one.

i just realised my content has a lot of "junk", in the way that i like them, but they are terribly simple. well thats cus i made em, but still i think they're quite easy to solve...

as for your puzzle, thats also... terrbly simple but... i like it all the same =)
