But - an illegal position. Which can be efficiently repaired by moving Rg4 to h3 and pawn g5 to g4. Or simpler by switching Rg4 and Ph3.

Actually that "illegal construction" was to murk the waters as to throw teenagers off, so obviously it is not going to work as "crystal clear" now that it is illegal. However for the sake of teen years, so it will be:

It was crystal clear before I noticed the illegality! And I would probably be the only one noticing it. Your choice in repair is how a composer of retrograde problems might do it. It's now "just legal". A common "mate-in-n" composer would also remove Pg5 as redundant. I don't mind it either way happy
