Puzzle rating vs difficulty - Chess Forums

When I look at my puzzle archive I see rating, time, and time taken, and points awarded. When I open the puzzle to review, it says difficulty.
My most recent puzzle has a rating of 1352 and a difficulty of 768.
Can anyone explain or describe what those two words signify?

I think this is because they still haven't fixed the colossal cluster#* they did with the puzzle ratings.

That seems plausible. There are obviously two different numerical assessments going on. But did they used to match up? I would have thought they would have settled closer to the new values by now not still be so radically different.
I’m still curious if anyone knows more about it.
