puzzle

It's a good puzzle but i would like to see how black got into this bad spot i would never have 5 of my pieces still not move this far into the game.

even though i don't see the matereal damage in 1... Rh7. but it's a bad move anyway with the bishop aiming at it...
Yeah, I'm also wondering what happens after 1. Ng6 Rh7. I don't see White even winning the exchange, let alone a whole rook.

Nevermind. I put it through a chess engine, and White seems to be able to win some material, but it's a lot harder than you think.
In other words, while White can gain material, this puzzle is cooked.

yes, you are right. 1...Rh7 would have been a much better move, although White was going to be winning some material in any case.
side note: this was my first attempt at creating a puzzle. i'll try harder next time.

Sorry if I sounded a little harsh. It's not that bad of a puzzle. It's just that either the other side plays the stronger move, or you comment it in (like losing heavy material instead of getting mated, for example). Otherwise, there's always going to be someone wondering whether or not that other move was a refutation.
